About the Artist
Dorothy Elle Jenkins is an illustrator and painter. By playing off traditional tropes of fantasy characters, her work explores the possibilities of a whimsical world that’s grounded in reality. The wild, strange, and emotional characters of her work are reflections of herself and the desire to see more than just plain, unfeeling creatures. Each piece mixes the traditional ideas of art history with vibrant colors and narrative fantasy. Through these high-energy works, she creates a convincing world filled with dark beauty and tragedy.
